Researcher / Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Voluntas specializes in conducting substantive research and providing monitoring and evaluation services in developing countries, conflict zones, fragile states and transitional societies. We use our knowledge to develop evidence-based recommendations and policy options based on extensive research and data collection. Our goal is to make a positive, sustainable impact on crisis-affected populations to improve their living standards and access to rights. To date, Voluntas has implemented over 125 projects in fragile regions with partners including UN agencies, the EU, USAID and international NGOs. We are present in nine countries and our projects are implemented in East and North Africa, the Middle East and Ukraine. Our projects focus on policy and programming, needs assessments, perception research, contextual analysis, monitoring and evaluation. We work in thematic areas such as environment and climate change, conflict resolution, employment, food security, gender, governance, human rights, migration, political economy, preventing violent extremism, public health, WASH and youth.
We are looking for a highly motivated specialist to join the Voluntas Advisory team in Kyiv to work on monitoring, evaluation and research projects. The ideal candidate will have 2−3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and/or research in international organizations, research institutes, consulting companies or universities.
Main responsibilities:
- Methodology development, coordination and preparation of reports for research, monitoring and evaluation projects;
- Conducting quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis (in-depth interviews, focus groups, quantitative surveys);
- Participation in the preparation of project proposals for new initiatives.

Core competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in economics, political science, international development, international law, or related disciplines;
- Fluency in written and spoken English (minimum level C1) and Ukrainian. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
